Race and Ethnic relations in this country

Most people thought with the election of Barack Obama that this nations racial issues could be solved with civility, but as these months ticked past race relations have become worse than in the 60s. I do not think this nation is ready for a black President. No President in recent history has been more closely watched in their first 100 days. If you pose the question to me, what has he done? My answer is a lot. Health Care Reform, saved the auto industry, passed legislation giving American Indian more power over their legal issues, financial reform, and a host of other things all the while being blocked by Republicans. Then we have this Tea Party movement, who claims the government is too big. I ask them what about two wars and tax cuts?

  1. The problem with their point is it's 30 years too late. How do you prosecute two wars with tax cuts and not go broke? Where were they when average citizens were losing their jobs at a rate of hundreds of thousands a month? Where were they w...hen people 401k's magically disappered? They were enjoying their white privalege. They cry about health care reform when a huge percent of them recieve medicare, that my friend is government run health care. They scream about the constitution, but what about the Patriot Act? How about the Mosque in New York, what are they doing to protect the constitutional rights of Muslims? NOTHING!!!! They think the constitution only applies to them. That is were race comes in. Look at Mark Williams blog, a tea party spokesman and a racist. Sarah Palin excepted an endorsement for Governor from the Alaskan independence party knowing full well they have ties to white seperatist groups, infact her husband was a member. Now she speaks for whole tea party groups. That's where race comes in. If John McCain had won would there be this type of movement? I don't think so. I'm not saying that all members are racist, but some people are racist and don't even know it.See More

  2. I agree with you...The election of President Barack Obama has only served to bring awareness to race relations certainly not improve or diminish them...until We The People learn to value and encourage diversity we will struggle with acceptance of self, others and certainly an effective Black Leader such as Our President...

  3. That's where you're wrong my friend. Racism can not be weeded out by natural selection because it's so deeply embedded in our society that it has become its own institution within the institution we call society. Race was created and became a frankeinstein, an out of control beast with no natural predators to control its spread.

I truly hope you do not believe the immigration issue is an issue of Mexicans taking people's jobs.

Why are they screaming about the Southern Boarder, but have no problem with the Northern boarder? This nation has never caught a terrorist coming from Mexico, but i'm afraid we cannot say the same about the Canadian boarder.

What about the illegal Europeans here? I do not hear anything about that.

One more thing Sam, you never answered my questions. If you can answer my questions then maybe i will rethink the whole racist issue.
